Small pins,
Big effect!

Because linear forces and angular torques must be applied in orthodontics to achieve the desired results, one of the most important aspects of treatment is a secure anchor for the appliances.
It doesn’t have to be headgear!

In the past, one had to use methods such as a headgear.

In addition to the visibly obvious discomfort these devices cause their patients, it is very difficult to achieve precise, optimized control of the application of the required forces for each individual.

The effectiveness of the headgear also depends to a large degree on the discipline of the wearer.
Implants, also in orthodontics!

The enormous advances being made in implantology have also revolutionized orthodontics:

Microimplants allow us to now, finally, precisely control the application of linear forces and angular torques.

What benefits do microimplants offer?

Anchorage with microimplants allows tooth movement without side-effects: only what needs to be moved is moved. This allows completely new treatment concepts to be realized: where it was previously not possible to close gaps to one side without pulling a tooth, microimplants now make this unnecessary loss of a tooth a thing of the past.

In addition, there is no longer a visual nor functional impairment of the facial region previously caused by these additional devices. Microimplants make treatment for both adults and children much more comfortable.

Setting the screws is just a minor operation using local anesthesia. No healing process is needed, loads can be applied immediately to the implant.

Because the implant can be set exactly where needed, and thus precisely applies the required forces right from the beginning, the duration of treatment can be greatly reduced.

The microimplants serve as the anchor for pressure and tension springs (see photo) that allow the desired movement of the teeth to be achieved.

As soon as the teeth have reached the desired positions, the implant can be removed with minimal impact.
